Headcount is a counting game about one very busy house. A few critters stroll in while you watch, then the chaos starts: they run in and out through the door in bursts, from both sides, sometimes all at once. When the door shuts, one question: how many are in the house?
Every level adds more comings and goings, bigger bursts and faster feet. Later on, critters peek in without going inside, the mail carrier drops by, and at level 9 a second house moves in next door. Now you keep two counts at once, because you only find out at the end which house the question is about.
Headcount is part of Unrot, a series of short games that each put one mental skill to the test: memory, attention, speed or logic. Zero brainrot.
How to play
- Watch the starting crowd walk into the house and count them.
- Then keep count: add one for every critter that goes in, take one away for every critter that comes out.
- When the door shuts, type how many are inside and press OK. The roof lifts off and everyone inside gets counted.
- A wrong answer is a strike. Three strikes and the run is over.
- Critters that only peek, walk past, or deliver the mail never go in. They don’t count.
- From level 9 there are two houses, and critters also move from one to the other. Keep both counts.
Scoring
- Your score is the level you reach.
- Every critter in a round you answered right adds to your tally, which breaks ties between runs that reach the same level.
- Play the Daily for one scored run on the same rounds as everyone else, and keep your Unrot streak alive.
Tips
- Count the starting crowd carefully. Every mistake there carries through the whole round.
- Watch the door, not the critters. Only what goes through the door changes the count.
- A burst of three is still three. Count bursts as they squeeze through, one by one.
- With two houses, keep two numbers going, and remember a critter walking from one house to the other is minus one here and plus one there.
